A representative crowd is present at the Institute of Jamaica to witness the presentation of Musgrave Medals awarded by the Institute of Jamaica for the first time in two years. Recipients are Ruby Delgado for her work in music, Victor Reid for his contribution in the field of literature and George Goode, for ‘his deep devotion to the cause of music’ and his service in raising the standard of choral music in Jamaica .
1967:
Managing Director of British Drug Houses (B.D.H.) Group Ltd, Mr. F.W. Griffin announces that the production of oral contraceptive pills in Jamaica is expected to commence early 1968. He states that Jamaica is interested in family planning and his company is prepared to make the pills here.
1967:
Minister of Home Affairs, Roy McNeil announces that recruitment has begun in the drive by the Jamaican Constabulary Force to increase the number of men in force by 200 for the year.
